On the third of February 2022 our government has amended the regulation on salaries and other benefits of civil servants working abroad. The proposal includes raising the amount of compensation for an unemployed partner to EUR 1,000. Link to the news

In May 2021the 37th conference of assotiatin EUFASA (European Union Foreign Affairs Spouses, Partners’ and Families Association) took place. The conference was attended by representatives of national associations of partners or families of diplomats from 19 European countries and representatives of the EU. Two representatives from Slovenia also attended the conference as invited guests. The guests were addressed by Portuguese Foreign Minister Augustos Santos Silva. EEAS (European External Action Service) representative Ginette Kela and the Foreign Affairs Officer from the Dutch and Spanish Ministries of Foreign Affairs also spoke at the conference.
At the two-day conference, the working groups presented the results of this year’s research, touched on various issues that family members of diplomats face on a daily basis and envisaged further steps to improve their status.
The state of family policy in Slovenian diplomacy was also presented.
